"Tears of Spring"
Acrylic Mixed-Media on Canvas
18"x24"
I've been experimenting with a different approach to preparing a painting surface that involves gluing mat board I've cut into shapes onto the canvas. I've found I can create a texture layer that can stand alone as a composition and be nearly as interesting as what I paint on it. This is the forth in a series completed. I've had fun mixing layers, abstract and cubist elements, and a variety of subjects. I'll try to get more posted!

I took this picture on Monday, January 18, for Mrs. Robinson...this amaryllis belonged to her mother and it has been forced to bloom indoors since 1964...I imagine this plant is much older...amazing...
